I’m skipping a bonafide Yarn Along this week because I’m still reading My Antonia and still bouncing around between a variety of projects. The one seen in the photo is a Cabled Cowl for my brother. It was supposed to be a surprise but I ended up letting him know about it because I started wondering if he’d even want it. I told him that I would either finish it for him or rip it and save the yarn for myself. He was shocked that I would do that after all the time and work. It made me realize I’m a journey knitter. For me, it’s not so much about the finished garment than it is about the whole knitting process. Sure, I love a finished piece but overall, I get the biggest joy out of starting something and working through the process. That is why I’m not too disappointed about having to rip back my Jane Eyre Shawl for the third time (possibly the fourth, I’ve stopped counting.) It turns out, when working a knit flat, you don’t read every row of the chart from right left.
However, I have been listening to a lot of great music. Thanks to an iTunes gift card, I was able to get three new albums this week. And I’m loving all of them. Basia Bulat’s Tall Tall Shadow, Agnes Obel’s Aventine and MS MR’s Secondhand Rapture. I recommend these songs: Tall Tall Shadow, It Can’t Be You, Fuel to Fire, The Curse, Hurricane and Bones.
What are you knitting/crocheting, reading or listening to this week?
