These photos were taken on the cusp of August when we had some surprisingly autumn-like days. Now, the trees are changing and loosing their leaves all over the ground. Cool, autumnal weather, whether it comes at the end of July or the end of September, leads me to pants, collared shirts, blazers and outfits that are, overall, slightly more androgynous.
I’ve been debating whether or not I want to bother with outfit posts anymore. I do enjoy them, mostly from a photography stand point. (This particular set, I was experimenting with manual focusing and self-timers as opposed to using a remote.) Plus, they encourage me to put a little more effort in my appearance. In this last year, my body has been through a lot of changes and my mind hasn’t been able to keep up with them. That confusion and the fact that I did more physical labor jobs this summer left me mostly wearing work clothes and a small rotation of sun dresses. Maybe autumn will bring me a little more interest in my wardrobe and personal style.
This shirt is one of my sentimental favorites. When my Mom sees me wearing it she smiles and says it reminds her of when she and my Dad were dating. It was originally his, then my brother’s and now mine.
