I’m joining in Yarn Along this week hosted by Ginny of Small Things. It’s the chance for those of us who love knitting and reading to share what project is currently on our needles and which book we have our noses buried in. And I personally add what music I’ve been listening to as well.
Knitting: I’m back at my Jane Eyre Shawl this week. After a few mishaps and ripping back a couple times, I decided to use a ridiculous amount of stitch markers to help keep better track of what I am doing. That’s one thing I’ve learned about myself as a knitter is that I am terrible at keeping count. Without markers, I’m lost. This fall marks two years of knitting for me. (Posts about making plans and finally casting on in those early days.) So, I was thinking of doing a little post of the helpful things I’ve learned–very simple, beginner tips for people who might be where I was two years ago, viewing knitting as an esoteric foreign language. I seriously never thought I’d be able to do what I am doing now.
Reading: My Antonia. I actually read it about six or more years ago but felt like it was time to reread it. A fellow Goodreads member suggested I check out Cather’s other book Shadows on the Rock and after reading the premise, I’m excited to get around to that one in the future. You know what they say: so many books, so little time! Good thing autumn increases your urge to curl up with a cup of tea and book.
Listening: To Lissie. Almost obsessively. I finally bought the Covered Up With Flowers EP and regret not doing so sooner. It’s such a great collection of covers (including songs by Kid Cudi, Fleetwood Mac, Lady Gaga and Metallica.) And she has a new album coming out next month that I’m very excited about.
What are you knitting/crocheting, reading or listening to this week?
