I wasn’t a very good blogger last week (I think I did one post?) But that is summer. I don’t know how the phrase “lazy days of summer” ever took footing because I surely don’t know them. Instead, these days are so full and busy. Sometimes overwhelmingly so. I realized I was wasting too much time, sitting down, organizing to-do lists and fretting over all the things I should be doing, so eventually, I just tossed them.
Instead I’ve been trying to do things as I pass them. Even if it means the squash doesn’t get picked until tomorrow. Or I splatter walnut juice on my only nice white t-shirt (more on that in the future.) Or photos stay on the camera for a few days. Or blogs don’t get read for a week. Or I stop what I’m doing to film the hummingbirds.
Although it’s hectic, I do
love like Summer. Especially now, when the humidity broke a bit and it’s just gorgeous out. And peaches are in season. And oh so delicious. Also…
Bees are buzzing and going crazy for the pollen in the Rose of Sharon.
Things are being sewn and listed and experimenting for new projects has begun.
Things are growing, whether we want them to or not.
Gourds are getting cleaned up.
Many knitting projects are casting on (the hat), some even getting finished (produce bag.) (And far too much wishful thinking is going on.)
And so much more in these days.
Have your days been full?
