I’m fashionably late with sharing my resolutions for 2013. (The last couple weeks have been busy!) I’ve got a few big goals for 2013. One is more of the first serious steps towards a longer, larger goal but it’s still at that tender stage so I won’t mention it yet. However, I’d love to share a few smaller (though large in their own way) goals I have for the year. Some I’ve even been accomplishing so far.
My main goal is mentioned above, to take better care of my body. Maybe someday I’ll go into more detail on that plan but for now, just that broad simplicity will do.
But also, this year I will…
…not be so self-deprecating. Especially not in front of others. Your opinion of yourself changes their opinion of you.
…take more hikes. Fresh air and sunshine are important.
…cut back on screen time. Not just TV but computer too.
…not pass up so many offers. They may stop.
…pretend I have to do the things that scare me. I’m more likely to do them (and do them bravely) when I think I don’t have a choice.
…learn to cook (and eat) more meat. Especially fish.
…think before I speak. Sometimes I get a bit ramble-y.
…recognize the grace and joy in the everyday. It’s there.
…control my temper. I only end up hurting myself in the end.
…grow even more food. And learn even more about growing food!
…continue to think. But stop with the over-thinking.
What are YOU aiming to accomplish or better this year?

This year I will…
+ Have more confidence in my artistic ability and push myself creatively to try new things, especially projects that I’m not very good at.
+ Work on saving money and seeing the importance and value in that.
+ Be more present with my husband, friends, and family.
+ Unplug. A lot.
+ See a therapist about a family member who causes serious stress. It’s time to move on.
+ Grow in patience, love, and kindness.
+ Think about the next stage of my career and stop dwelling on negative aspects of the current one.
+ Practice even more self-love.
+ Work on not being so shy.
+ And finally, ask for help when I need it. I’m so independent sometimes I forget that it’s okay to need people.
Love and light to you!

What a great resolution Liesl. This also ties into mine of dancing. Because of work and studying language I’ve had no time to take care of myself over the past year and a half and I can feel it. I want to focus 2013 on eating good wholesome foods and dancing my butt off. A new year is such a nice time to evaluate and make decisions for what works and what doesn’t.

Great list! And you inspired me to write my first resolution post for my shop on my blog. Personally my resolutions include continuing to organize and keep my house tidy, and get pictures on our walls (especially of family members), finally demolish my magazine pile (I have a small laundry basket of magazines waiting for me to read them), and travel somewhere (in state or overseas) once a month. I’d love to see the addition go up on the back of our house, but I think that will still be a dream for a few years.
I love reading your blog and your pictures are so beautiful they feed my creativity :) Great to see you again!
