We had our first real day of snowing on Tuesday. I hadn’t been feeling well for many days, opting instead to stay in bed and nurse a weary heart. But upon waking and seeing the snow out my window, I slipped on a newly thrifted plaid flannel dress and even a little lipstick and mascara. Then I layered up in coats and mittens, pulled on my boots, grabbed my camera and the dog and went outside. I opted for only my film camera so I have no digital photos of the outdoors to share (the first one in the above set was taken inside looking out.) I’ve got a few more frames then I’ll get the roll developed and share with you.

My brother is very excited about the holidays this year and has decked every square inch of the house with lights, tinsel-y garland, cinnamon scented candles, nesting Santas—you name it. I jokingly warned everyone here to keep moving because if we stood still for too long he may have wrapped us up in lights and garland. Well, it’s good someone is in the spirit. I have a feeling I’ll be warming a bit slower this year.

  1. Liesl, the photos are lovely. You have such an eye for beauty and color…hope your heart is lighter now. Your blogland friends are here for you. Warm hugs to you.

  2. So pretty! I love snow days, especially when you have the time to just wander and enjoy them. We still haven’t had our first snow day, but I know it’s coming soon as I don’t remember the last time Denmark had a snowless November.

  3. Beautiful. How wonderful that you’ve had snow! I admire your brother’s spirit — we’ve yet to warm to the ubiquitous seasonal cheer. Soon, I hope, for both you and us!

  4. I think that’s what I’m missing to feel completely in the holiday spirit = snow! Lovely pictures, & that flannel dress looks and sounds very comfy & cozy. :)

Make a snow angel for me ;)

  5. Your photos take my breath away. You captured the light and colors so beautifully! I’m glad you got some snow to cheer your days, and I hope you’re feeling better. A snow day with tea and a pretty dress sounds mighty nice.
