It’s almost December and here I am doing a Garden Update. That’s because you plant garlic around this time. (One of the things I am learning about this member of the Allium family.) We planted some Chesnok Red (Purple Stripe), German White (Porcelain) and Ukrainian Red (Rocambole), as well as one head simply labeled M and one labeled S. The garlic farmer told the names but we’ve since forgotten them—though after a bit of research, I’m thinking Spanish Roja and Music sound familiar. Then we mulched with some grass clippings. Now to wait until spring!

We planted our garlic today! (I have been lousy with the garden updates, but it is so good to see a bit of your garden!)

Can’t wait to see the different types of garlic! A small tip I’ve learned from my boyfriend who’s following a gardening course: You have to make sure that you don’t grow anything of the alium family on the same spot as the garlic for the next 6 years. I’m not sure why, though. :)
Good luck with the garlic!
