Hopefully I’ll get back to some regular blogging soon but for now, here is a smattering of photos of the going-ons, garden happenings and other what-nots.
This may very well have been the prettiest thing I made all summer. And it was mighty tasty too—though, honestly, how can you go wrong with homegrown veggies topped with cheese? Here is the recipe.
Harvesting herbs, here and there.
The second planting of bush beans are doing very well.
The overall harvest is dwindling but still producing enough to please me. (We got so many peppers this year!)
Been bringing my ginger in on these cooler nights.
Curious critters are always following me around outside.
And the morning light. Oh, the morning light.
I cast on. (More details in a future post.)
I splurged. (Again, more details in a future post.)
What is life like by you?

i was just up in the rocky mountains for the weekend – and all i can think about is stuff like this. walking in the morning dew, gathering herbs and picking from the garden, sewing on the deck while the sun sets… mmm, the simple life.

Sweet to see little snapshots of your days. I’m intrigued by your knitting! Lark is really a pleasant yarn to knit with and I can’t wait to see how this project comes out! Also, that little knit up there is rather cute, and I don’t even know what it is, hah.
Oh, your ginger is so lovely! Mine must popped its second sprout out into the open air. Love it when that happens. :)

My ginger had only one sprout for quite a while but suddenly there were three or four more. I’ll admit, I was a little giddy—especially since I had no expectations of re-growing ginger working at all.

I’m excited by the sneak peek of knitting. Are those socks by any chance? I will have to wait and see…

Yes, they are! The photo is actually a little old now. I’ve made some progress since then.

Looks like you have and will be busy for sometime!! I started cleaning up my tomato patch, and was stung many times by little bees! Sure enough, there is a nest living in the ground along side the retaining wall of one of my gardens!! The stings itch alot!!…I think I will wait awhile longer to finish cleaning up my gardens!!
This past week-end I decided to start getting ready for a Garage Sale, that I will host in the middle of September!! I already have four large boxes of things I would like to sell!! It is a wonderful thing to watch space opening up around the house!! I want tp be a minimalist! Not sure if I will ever reach that goal!! I will let you know how I do!!

Oh, sorry to hear about the bee stings. That’s no fun. Hopefully they clear out and you can do your gardening soon. Best of luck with your garage sale. We had one in the Spring and it was great to purge ourselves of a lot of stuff we had accumulated.

Wow, it is o many great things in this post!
Your photos are fantastic! I’m in total awe of your peppers! Here they just didn’t grow at all this cold wet summer….
Looking forward to see more of your knitting, very inspiring too!

Yes, we had a HOT summer, so the peppers grew like crazy.
