Stripey Lonestar Quilt Block Tutorial

Good morning. Here is the latest block for the Series. I’m quite smitten with this one. Click the above photo to be taken to the tutorial document. I think it fits in with the quilt really well–I’m still on the fence about the Dresden Plate Block. I wonder if I should redo it more like this one, to make it mesh better with the “scrappy” feel of the quilt?
Sampler Quilt.
Here is the progress so far. What do you think?

I like the scrappy look of the lone star block and the over all look of the quilt. I think it might need more blocks with solid backings of some sashing when it’s time to piece the top together. That way the blocks, and all your hard work, will really pop! It’s looking really cheerful.

I really really like this block – it must be so fiddly to work with all those little scraps, I know my ‘fat’ fingers would find it very hard.
I actually think if you make even just two more blocks with central designs and white pieces it would work really well with the rest of the quilt

Maybe you could centre the dresden plate and build the other blocks up around it?

It’s quilting like this that makes me feel queasy… Maybe one of these days I’ll be this skilled! Your blocks are so beautiful and I love the bright colors!

Hi Liesl, your blocks are beautiful and I’m wondering if you’ve completed more blocks after the postage stamp block? I’d love to make a quilt from these squares.

The blocks are so bright and stunning. Maybe put the Dresden plate in the middle.
