Blog Banner Opinions Wanted.

Happy Monday everyone!
Now that Color Week is over, I guess I should get back to the crafty stuff. The trouble is that I don’t have any crafty stuff to share right now. I’m working on a big pile of makeup bags for the shop. (And I do mean big.) As well as some mighty cute bags holders.
Broken
But the main thing I’ve been busy on is the baby quilt. I’ve been so enthralled in stitching that I actually broke my lucky needle. That’s a first: breaking a needle when hand quilting! I’m really pleased with the way it’s coming along and am enjoying the process—there is something almost meditative about sewing in spirals. I’m glad I went with the choice to hand quilt.

But right now I need your help: I’ve decided it’s time to change up the blog a bit with a new top banner. But the trouble is I’m a terribly indecisive person. I’ve narrowed it down to a few but need your opinion on which is the best? (If I choose the first, I’ll change my shop button to the right.)

I like the simple colourful little pins…

    …so bright and cheerful…

I know how it is to be indecisive!

I think I like the first one best because it has the most depth so it seems to draw my eye in the most. I do like all the pictures from the middle one, but seeing that banner next to the other two makes it seem too busy. I think if you used the middle picture (the one with the four thread spools) from the middle banner by itself, that would probably end up being my favorite.

    Hope this helps!

I agree with pretty much everything Mindee said about the blog banners. I think if you switched to the middle picture in the middle banner, that would be my favorite as well.

Your hand stitching looks beautiful. I break needles all the time while hand quilting, but its my own fault. I usually load too many stitches on the needle before pushing them through.

    Hi Liesl,
I’m really liking the last one with the pin heads. I’m into lots of color though!
I might have to try that handstitching thing, you’ve almost got me convinced it would be fun!

I like the first a lot, and the third best. The second is too busy for my tastes.

My favourite is your current one! I like the font and the picture. I don’t like reading the broken line stitches, I find it hard on the eyes. Good luck.

Hi there! I found you through EtsyNJ. I just joined, and I also live in northwest New Jersey. (Hello neighbor!) I think I’m going to vote for the one with the colorful pins, too. My second favorite would be the photo in the middle of the second banner. :)

The top one has the most impact.

I like the first image Liesl, but then I don’t have a header on my blog because I create so much content it’s impossible to keep to one stationary image…I get bored. My friend Diane (http://www.dianecaytonhakey.com/) changes her header images weekly, sometimes daily, that’s fun too. :)

My vote is for the top one for its simplicity and depth. Though I love the left picture of the middle one, again for its depth/focal length. :) Can’t wait to see which you’ll settle on. I almost thing your hand-stitching spiral photo would make a good banner as well….
